"Beyond Courage" is the new Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion from Konami, available on October 8, 2026. This set stands out as one of the most anticipated releases of the year, combining strong nostalgic appeal with innovative game mechanics that are sure to appeal to both longtime players and newcomers to competitive play.

At the heart of the deck, Joey Wheeler’s reimagined cards revolve around the Dark Time Wizard spell, a Quick-Play card that offers two effects to choose from: a safe one to draw a card from the deck, and a risky one based on a coin flip that can destroy all of the opponent’s monsters. This gameplay, rooted in Joey’s iconic duels, fosters a strong emotional connection among fans of the franchise, while also providing genuine strategic depth. The Exceed Fusion Monster Red-Eyes Black Dragon, with its 3400 ATK and immunity to opponent spell and monster effects, rounds out this strategy with a key piecethat collectors will be clamoring for.

The expansion also expands the Destiny HERO archetype centered around Aster Phoenix, with 3 new cards featuring powerful, synergistic effects, as well as the Atlantis/Umi/Daedalus universe, offering a formidable field controlformidable field presence through monsters that all become “Umi” on the field. The brand-new Ashtra archetype introduces an original mechanic combining Traps and Synchro Summoning, opening up new competitive possibilities. Finally, targeted support for Endymion, Clown Crew, and Predaplant decks encourages additional purchases to complete existing collections.
