Race on land, underwater, in the air, and even on walls and ceilings across 48 tracks full of surprises. All the tracks and drivers from Mario Kart 8 on Wii U are back in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, including previously released downloadable tracks inspired by The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Excitebike, and many more!

You can choose from different speed classes, such as the 150cc Grand Prix or the ultra-fast 200cc Grand Prix. New to Mario Kart? Turn on assist mode to help you get the hang of the game and keep you from going off the track.

TURN THE TIDE OF THE GAME WITH ITEMS!
You can now carry two items at a time, allowing you to devise new strategies during races and battles! Useful items from previous Mario Kart titles, such as bananas, turbo mushrooms and the famous spiny shells, are back, but there are also new ones like Boo, which allows you to become invisible and perhaps even steal an item from another player, or the Acrobat Feather***, which lets you jump to avoid imminent attacks.

BATTLE MODE HAS NEVER BEEN THIS BIG!
There are tons of ways to take on your rivals in the revamped Battle Mode. Wreak havoc in Balloon Battle, Bob-omb Blast, Coin Battle, and Sun Capture, or dive into the all-new Track Chase mode.

No matter how you choose to battle it out, there are eight dedicated tracks to race on. Take on your friends on the Luigi’s Mansion track or try to avoid getting caught on the Turbot Passage track, straight out of the Splatoon universe.

COMPATIBLE WITH amiibo
If you use a compatible amiibo (sold separately), such as Super Mario, Splatoon, and Animal Crossing amiibo, your Miis can wear outfits inspired by those characters. You can use amiibo on the Nintendo Switch by placing them on the NFC area of the right Joy-Con or the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (sold separately).

*Multiplayer requires one compatible controller per player. Additional controllers (sold separately) may be required. Wireless local multiplayer requires one copy of the game per player.
