[Guernian], the black dragon who once defied the gods, has fallen. An unholy energy has poured into the world from the Rift into which he fled before his death, and all forms of life have been afflicted by a strange mutation. Everyone lives in fear of this Corruption, but few truly understand its origin.

You play as an immortal warrior, a so-called Successor, chosen by [Lu], the God of Light, [Ashuran], the God of Fire, and [Harnia], the God of Water. Upon their arrival in Cliffshire, the City of Light, the Successors must venture into the catacombs where demons seem to be gathering, and find clues on how to purify this corrupted world.

Dragon is Dead is a 2D platformer that requires precise dodging and quick changes of direction. Each area intertwines vertically and horizontally, a multifaceted structure that creates a Rogue-Lite-style environment where monster and loot placements change with every attempt. When you die, you lose your gold and temporary bonuses, but you keep your equipment and runes for subsequent attempts. Defeating bosses grants rune stones used to craft or awaken legendary equipment, and artifacts found during exploration grant powerful blessings or dangerous curses, depending on the combinations, adding a constantly evolving tactical dimension.
